The story behind my topic...
Anxiety is like a monster that gets a grasp on everyone at some point in their lives. We have all dealt with that tense, helpless feeling before. Anxiety is defined as a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome. Once someone starts to get anxious, they cannot control it. It is like a plane leaving the terminal, once they start getting anxious, they cannot stop. Personally, for me, it gets so bad that I start to convulse, shake, and I can barely breathe; this is known as an anxiety attack. It is one of the scariest things I have to go through. People with really bad anxiety usually get diagnosed with GAD (General Anxiety Disorder). Most people, who are experiencing physical manifestations of anxiety, shake uncontrollably, get jittery, get nauseated, and experience dizziness. This disorder affects 40 million people in the United States and I intend to do more research for myself and others to further understand anxiety and its manifestations.
